Well now we are trying to advertise our movie. It is very hard to advertise with no money. We can not use television because that requires a large sum of money that we do not have. Since money is a issue with out clip we are using free advertisement sites and other sourses. For example Facebook, Google, & Mandy .com .          Word of advise become connected with people that can do wonders for your career and for the work you have done !

Abusive to Lost?

Our story has changed so much since our "shooting" on saturady. The abusive father was changed to a long-lost dad. sooo depressing!! After discussing our next shooting day, the crew & actors left for the 4 train. We waited for like 30 mintues. but we had to leave when we found out it'll be like 2 hours for the trains to come. And the crew was not going to wait ing the freezing cold. Now we're trying to make a movie poster. When it's done, it'll look totally cool. We still have to get some pictures of the actors.

Looking Back: Central Park

Starting to edit our film. It's sooo hard.  Even with our scenes from Central Park. While we were filming it, people kept going in front of theParasonic DVX 100 camera. We're looking for songs to fit into the movie. So far....nothing. But we tried the pokemon theme song. Soooo lol. But we will try our best to find the perfect song : ) The snow in New York played a major part in our shooting. It was beautiful and cold. The actors went freezing out there. Each day before shooting we would wait for our team, in front of The Cinema School. From there we travel to our shooting location.

Oh No!

Well we cut our film very short to atleast a minute and thirty seconds. That is very heard to deal with because we put a lot of work into planing our film! Our actors wont be able to finish the jobs that they signed up for.  I am very dissapointed but what we already shot was very good !

Coming together

What a trip has it been? From plotting, story boards, casting, music, editing and etc. It takes more than one person to come up with a good project. In my opinion this project has made my group and I closer and understand each other's thoughts more. I am sad that this went by so fast, because I am really going to mess all this working that makes me feel mature, but most of all I'm going to miss working with my group. First everyone was confuse and we had a plan but no one knew how we would success it. As time passed by we all started to take control of our jobs (rolls) and started to talk about it to each other, hearing all of our thoughts and connecting them have made us get were we are now. From the first day I join this group I knew there was many work to be done but now everything is almost done and I'm happy for the work that has been done. This group has made me into a better and more patient person, believe it or not I feel like I have learned things and mature a bit. I think we all have, hopefully we win but regardless we all have won already.

As a Casting Director

Being the casting director for the film Open Wounds has been a learning lesson for me. I came into this project thinking it was going to be pointless, boring and a waste of time. As time past by I started to connect with my group and I started to believe with our thoughts put together we could make a good film. My job as a casting director gave me a responsibly role that meant I had to be focus and get everything organized ( I knew there was no time to play around. ) The hardest part of my job was the casting, just for the fact I had to find actors and contact them.  That was the most stressful part but than I got the hang of it and felt like I was actually doing something. I was proud of myself when I saw actors come in because I knew I did my job right. Honestly I loved my job, I felt like I was running a business and it made me learn not to judge things without knowing. Who would have thought a person that came into this MWI project with a negative attitude would leave with a positive mind proud of herself.

-Yanesi
We have FINALLY found a location, and can finally continue editing our project. The actors were understanding and knew that we were only starting out as filmmakers. Tomorrow should go very well because the cast and crew is well prepared and everything is very well scheduled.

Not only is the shoot tomorrow well thought out, but we will be shooting indoors, so no one will be as cold as they were on our last shoot.
We also found an actor willing to play an abused mother who's trying to get rid of her abusive husband. She seems very willing and cooperative, I'm glad we've found someone right for the part.

 David (protaganist) can relate
 Focus is key!

Director AND Writer?

I've got to say this project, I mean this masterpiece, was REALLY insightfull in the world that is film-making. Being the writer of this film has really given me the chance to evoke the emotions that has been contained in my deepest thoughts, due to the fact I have experience with the matter of deomestic violence.

Long story short, this film really allows a person to realize that anything is possible with a pen, paper, and a story to tell. Although, be aware of many critics out there, all though kind of hurtfull, given the right reasons those critics could just save your film. One certain critic was my teacher Alvy, she helped me alot by constantly reminding me that my film was cliche...

LUCKILY, I listened to her and made a really wonderfull film that , most of all, enjoyed filming with my crew.
:)

2nd Day of Filming?

Our first day of shooting was overall simple, but we had only a few scenes to shoot. We shot outside all day although it was cold we got all the scenes we needed to shoot done. Our actors were very cooperative and have been great .

The second day of filming seems so far away but we have no confirmed location as of now. We need a house and the outside of the house, but have neither. It's stressful to have to worry about locations so close to our shooting date. We also have many different scenes to shoot but we have an amazing team and a great director and DP, so I know we can do great.
Your team is all you need!

When you are working with a group of people the most important thing is communication. You have to be able to exspress ideas and conflict with your group. If this is not done you may be a very disorganized group which results in a disorganized film which is never good because it seems like a "cheap film".

One things that needs to be in place before you film is a LOCATION . LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION . Location is key. Advice find a location that is sutable for your actors
Kevin Svetlich plays, a homeless father, accused and framed for a crime he never comitted. He is an emotional and a great actor who really expresses his emotion creatively. He has shown anger and sadness, even his need for his son in his life. He is first portrayed as a homeless man that used to be a powerful buisnessman, he first sees his son and embraces him.
Clayton Fox was a joy to work with. He plays the protagonist/main character in our short film.We like to establish relationship with our actors for them to work better on set. Our actors took one for the team when we had to film in 20 degree weather. This is a great way to have your actors work with confidence. Advice for espiering actos your attitude has a very big part in the rolls you play and may get.

School short films

Our school gave my fellow classmates and I an assignment to film a short clip thats has meaning and can b attached to music nd tell a story! Our short film has alot of meaning and we have been told that our ideas would be a good use for a PSA commercial . We have gotten far and have done a lot of work as  far as casting and filiming to put together a good proect. Our ideas are exsecuted through our films and our ideas are BRIGHT so what does that say about  our up coming short film.
